The Council has agreed minimum requirements for mediators carrying out Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings; these were approved by the Council's member organisations at its meeting on 15 February 2011. To download a copy of the document, click here.

Publicly Funded Mediations
The Legal Services Commission requires mediators conducting publicly funded work to be members of and regulated by a Family Mediation Council member organisation.
LSC recognised competence assessment
The Council runs the Legal Services Commission-recognised family mediation assessment scheme which was formerly administered by the UK College of Family Mediators. Professional and training standards
All FMC membership organisations regulate their individual members ensuring compliance with the FMC's professional and training standards; these are contained within the 'Criteria for Membership' section of the Council's Constitution.
