The lead bodies have been working hard to get the Family Mediation
Council up and running. Some aspects – such as the competence
assessment administration will probably come into being earlier, but
the Council is now fully operational. The FMC
Board very much hope that you will all support this new venture,
which we regard with great enthusiasm and excitement as being an
extremely positive and constructive move forward for family
mediation as a profession. Publicly Funded Mediations Mediators conducting publicly
funded work must be members of and regulated by a Council Member
Organisation. The assessments previously processed by the UK College will be administered by the Council with assessments being administered through one FMC member organisation at a time. At this time the scheme is being administered by NFM who can be contacted at: Family Mediation Council, PO Box 593, 7 The Close, Exeter, EX1 9HG.
