Your speakers
Working as an accredited family mediator I specialise in helping couples and families in dispute. Before setting up Family Mediation and Mentoring I worked for over 20 years as a specialist family lawyer. I am the author of the Which Guide to Divorce and Splitting up (2010) and the Which Divorce Guide 2015 and am co-chair of the Resolution Parenting After Parting committee. I am a Professional Practice Consult (PPC) for mediators, Hybrid Mediation trained and a Child Inclusive Mediator. My focus in mediation is to facilitate the resolution of any issue involving family relationship breakdown, its financial consequences and the arrangements for children.
Marcie Shaoul is the founder of the award-winning The Co-Parent Way and author of The Co-Parenting Method: Six Steps to Raise Happy Kids After Separation and Divorce (Penguin, 2025). She launched the UK’s first dedicated co-parent coaching practice in 2016 and has since helped thousands of separating parents transform how they communicate and co-parent. Recognised as Resolution’s Innovation Champion in Family Law (2023) and twice shortlisted at the Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards, Marcie also sits on Resolution’s Parenting After Parting Committee and advises the National Association of Separating Parenting Programmes. Drawing on both her professional expertise and personal experience as a co-parent, she champions the belief that, where it is safe, every child of separation has the right to parents who can still be parents—together.
Dr Angharad Rudkin is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working with children and their families. Angharad trains family law professionals on child well-being during divorce and is the Consultant Editor for the divorce guide “101 questions about Separation and Divorce with children” (Bath Publishing; 2020). With children’s author Ruth Fitzgerald, Angharad wrote “The Split Survival Kit” (Wren & Rook 2022), a book for children going through parental separation. Angharad regularly appears on TV and radio as an expert on child and family issues.
Former family lawyer, Sarah has been going solo as a mediator since 2020 at Sarah Smith Mediation Services. Her passion has always been in NCDR, and her practice includes Child Inclusive Mediation and Hybrid Mediation. Known particularly for a holistic approach and getting to the heart of the problem, she also supports families after litigation as a Parenting Coordinator.
